Villebois, A village near the woods
What began as a vision for a modern master planned neighborhood in Wilsonville nearly twenty years ago is now a unique and vibrant collection of diverse people, housing, parks, and gathering spaces. Villebois, which is an interpretation of the French phrase ‘village près des bois’ (village near the woods), is designed to keep residents connected year-round – inspired by the lifestyle of many traditional European villages. Whether its meeting at a neighborhood pocket park or a get together at a community event, the folks who live here know each other and support a way of life that keeps us all connected all year long.
The City of Wilsonville worked in partnership with nearby residents, property owners, and local & regional governments to create a complete, livable, pedestrian-oriented community. The Villebois Master Plan is based on three fundamental, guiding principles:
• Connectivity (connections between neighbors, within the village itself, with the rest of the City and with other parts of the region)
• Diversity (a vibrant choice of housing styles, a healthy mixture of employment opportunities and offices, types and levels of housing affordability, and a variety of available goods and services)
